Role == The Monarchy == Duke/Duchess Throughout your time as a monarch, you have managed to survive the tribulations of this chaos-sown world. Now, you rule it. Be careful, there are those who envy the power you hold. Conspirators and peasants alike beg at your legs... the volf pit awaits all, should you wish it. Court Duke/Duchess Married to the ruling Duke/Duchess, either out of love or for political arrangement, you have hopefully sired their a family to preserve their royal line. The ruler of Rockhill can be a Duke or a Duchess, but Duke/Duchess Consort do not receive different stats from their ruling counterparts. Heirs/Heiress While you are next in line, where is the fun in that? Go along, scamper about and make the dirty folk do all your bidding. Hand While the ruling Duke/Duchess is busily feasting and dining with his/her nobles, you keep the realm going. In the middle of all of this, you might even wonder if your appointment was worth all this strife. The only role the Duke chooses himself. == The Court == Steward Nobility. Lord of the Treasury. You manage the imports and exports of Rockhill, and keep ward of the tower. If the treasury is missing a few coins, your head is surely going to roll. Clerk Assistant to the Steward. Listen and heed his/her instructions. Functionally the only difference between Steward and Clerk is that the Steward is a noble, the Clerk is not. Royal Marshal A noble justicar, bearer of the Tome of Laws, and the judge over any crimes. Keep in mind, if you kill all your prisoners--you'll have no one to work the fields but yourself. Can declare outlaws and suggest laws. Councillor A nobleman or noblewoman in the court of his/her Majesty. Do as you please; you and your kind are above the common ilk. Advise the King on matters of his/her council. Court Magician Once a wandering scholar, you have found yourself in the service of a terrible liege. Though, given your prowess in the arcane, you are more than at home in a place of such cruelty. Court Physician Wounds, leeches, lesions, galore. In service of a royal family, you've found no shortage of torn tendons, missing arms, and gut-worms. Has farming skill to grow and harvest ingredients for powerful drugs. The Keeps' Servants Ignore the decrees of your Head Maid or Head Butler at your own peril. Keep food and drink ready for the Army and his/her Majesty. Jester Funny man! Bring a smile to everyone's face. Dance over the hatch of mysteries while you enthrall all courtiers with your divine hilarity. Able to jump up Z-Levels and can make any object talk! == The Royal Military and City Watch == Retinue Captain Nobility. You are the chief guard! Direct your soldiers to the right path and punish the lazy and lacking among them, Your mission is to supervise the security of the town and its border, Use your reputation and position as a noble to impose control over your men and protect your Glorious Leader!. Knight Nobility. You are a knight, a ritter, a chevalier, you are his/her Majesty's bodyguard and trusted protector, insure the safety of your King and fend off all of his/her enemies and potential rebels if needed. Squire You completed your duty as a page and now you are a squire, report to your knight and answer for his/her calls and orders, may you become a great warrior like him one day. Man at Arms The backbone of the ruling Duke's/Duchess's forces, you are a soldier who acts on your superior's orders and filling in some gaps of the guard if need be. Gatemaster Papers please, nobody gets in our out without your permission, though more times then not they'll try anyway. Have no time for yourself as you are glued to the gate controls of the keep. Town Sheriff You are the law, or should be. Lead your Watchmen in ensuring the town is safe from petty crime or cultist activity. Watchman Ensure the streets are clean of scum and villainy under the guidance of your Sheriff, the people trust you usually, but you can quite easily abuse that for your own gain. Dungeoneer Ensure all prisoners (If they aren't all executed) are taken care of and accounted for. Perform interrogations and dish out punishments for your superiors. Able to identify antagonists with their interrogate ability and able to remove limbs with knowledge of surgery. == The Faithful == Priest Appointed by the Church of the Successors you hold authority over all spiritual matters in the city. Be the light that guides the flock, or perhaps the senile coot who believes in very strict faith. You are the linch-pin in the town's survival, crown new successors, marry lovers and revive the dead, its all just another day for you. Inquisitor Nobody expects the Kingsfield Inquisition. Perform your duties in the name of Psydon and maintain an uneasy alliance with the lost fools who follow The Ten, purge and weed out any heretics by your hand, The Ten is tolerable, but the Inhumen and Zizo are abhorrent. Beat the shit out of people, hard grab them and use your special Interrogate and Test Faith abilities to weed out antagonists or heretics. Send signed confessions using the Hermes to inform Kingsfield! Confessor A follower of Psydon and a personal assistant to the Inquisitor! Thugs that carry out his/her will, they can also test the faith of people and extract confessions. Templar Deus vult, as Psydon wills it. Ensure the will of The Ten and your Priest are followed, protect those who cannot protect themselves and slay undead, demons and heretics alike. Each Patron has a different armor set and special ability! Acolyte Maintain the house of ten and tend to those who come seeking it's aid. Avoid becoming a 'heal bot' when the beggar limps in for the tenth time today simply saying "Heal chest" you are better then that. Choose from Astrata, Pestra, Eora and Malum for different abilities! Novitiate The lowest rank of The Faithful, you are still very much respected and needed, learn and help however you can so that one day you may be blessed to become that of your brothers and sisters. All patrons can be Novitiates! Even HERETICAL ones! Don't get caught! Mortician Bring out your dead. Maintain the graveyard so that Necra can continue to collect the lost souls, burying bodies is not a pretty job, but its necessary. Just make sure the acolytes are done with the bodies first. Druid Be one with nature, Dendor is with you. Ensure that the wilds are safe and maintained, perhaps even helping the local farmers in boosting their production with your miracles. Smoke weed in your tree house and brew up spice! == Town Residents == Merchant Everything is for sale for the right price. With your skills, identify valuable objects and sell them off to the Navigator, or order specially requested items from your Goldhand at an upmarked value. Shophand Assistant to the Merchant, it's your job to help the coin keep flowing. While they are away on (not so) important business, you can hold the storefront or be sent off on missives. Schollar Keeps the Knowledge of all of Rockhill in their library and in the Keeps archives. Has the special ability to teach non-combat skills to players instantly! Be sure to charge for this special ability! Mayor The Mayor of Rockhill, a roleplay intensive role that is meant to work with the Townwatch and Sheriff to alleviate conflicts so that the townspeople do not bother the ruling Duke/Duchess. You get your own house, a gun and a fancy hat! Smiths Toil away at the forge and anvil, you are a warrior's best friend. With the right supply of metals, you can produce the finest craft of weapons, armor, or tools that everyone so desperately needs. Architect With stone or with wood, you are the primary construction worker for the kingdom. Whether it is being hired by the court to maintain defenses or a simple home for the townfolk, you have the skills on hand for just about anything. There's only one of you and you get a fancy drill that can take down any wall in seconds! Artificer An engineer that is able to craft unique inventions such as the Metallizer, Portable Smelter, fully functioning Bronze Arms and even GUNS. Soilsons/Soilsbride The hand that feeds, without a steady supply of grain, fruits, and animal products, the kingdom would starve. With hard work, you could become the wealthiest group around. Just be aware that your lands lie in the Bog. Butcher The hand that feeds (the animals), Work alongside the Soilsons/Soilsbride to tend to the animals and provide the realm leather goods and meat! Barkeeper Joy to those with the time and mammons, provide a place to stay and enjoy while also being the primary supplier of meals and alcohol. You will be kept on your feet with requests, but it's all worth it to see the smile on a drunkard's face, right? Cook A co-op role that works with the Barkeep to cook and supply Rockhill with food! Take over while if the Barkeep needs to step out for a moment or have friendly banter with the Barkeep and customers. Towner The soul of the town, you could be just about anything a working class needs. Be that a hunter, fisher, carpenter, laborer, blacksmith or seamstress, these are just some of the roles that populate the town and keep the basics of life going. You also get a house!!! Nightmaster/Nightmatron A disgraced former noble and owner of the Whitevein Lounge, a decaying bathhouse converted into a den of low lives. Others come to you for drugs, and the sex with your lovely workers: The Prostitutes! (Usually) Prostitute Surely you can handle this role. Harbormaster A long retired captain, you work with the Merchant to manage the ship and the crew to import goods. Longshoremen The Harbormaster and the Merchants buddy, you haul chests of imported goods for the Harbormaster and Merchant, get a cool Cutlass and cause trouble in the harbor district. == The Bog == Refugees Outsiders that are fleeing from The Rot. There are MANY unique classes of Refugee from Laborers, Mages, Returning Clergy and Crusaders, Mercenaries and Deserters, but the people of Rockhill will not be quick to trust you and you'll have to find some place to stay. Mercenaries Men and Women that kill for money! They work with the Guild Clerk to fulfill contracts for anyone that has money to pay! There are MANY classes of Mercenary, some locked to specific races! Guild Clerk The Guild Clerk runs the Mercenary's Guild Hall! Manage the Excitium to create quests and clear non-lethal bounties for members of the guild, as well as cook and clean for them. == Threats to Rockhill == Vampires An Ancient Evil Vampire Lord awakens in a hidden Mansion deep within the Terrorbog. Seek the Throne and destroy all mortals in your way. You don't need to be invited in, but you still need to be wary of Silver and Sunlight. Werevolves Those cursed by Dendor, the God of Nature to take revenge upon society! When night falls (which is most of the time) transform into a beast and ravage the town! Rebels Recruit all of the downtrodden of Rockhill to your side and overthrow the Monarchy! Convince the Priest to crown one of you as the rightful ruler of Rockhill, sit on the Throne for a bit, make a decree and win the game! You will never win, but at least have fun and create an interesting story trying! Aspirants Conniving nobles that want the throne for themselves! Only Nobility can receive this antagonist type! Depose the Duke and make yourself the rightful ruler of Rockhill! Bandits Followers of the Heretical God Matthios seeking to upend the social order and sacrifice material wealth to their god for great boons! Maniac A stealth killer that tries to blend in with the regular citizens of Rockhill. Try not to be discovered as you butcher the disgusting ignorant pigs for your own ends. Escape and destroy the fake reality they blissfully exist in. Cultists Goblins The Spawn of Graggar, a nest of Goblins has cropped up beneath Rockhill. These little monsters use secret tunnels around Rockhill to capture innocent citizens and force them into slave labor to prove their might to their creator Graggar.
